'UP Diwas' to be celebrated on January 24

LUCKNOW: The Yogi Adityanath government today decided to celebrate 'UP Diwas' on January 24, the day the erstwhile (भूतपूर्व) United Provinces was rechristened(नामकरण)  as Uttar Pradesh. "BJP and the Yogi government believe that the identity of the state and the country lies in its birth. The cabinet has decided to celebrate January 24 as UP Diwas," cabinet minister Sidharth Nath Singh said. Brilliant idea to celebrate UP Diwas. Our home state of Uttar Pradesh -land of Ram,Sita & Krishna is the heartland of Hindustan.I am sure Yogiji will make UP, once again,Uttam Pradesh
The United Provinces(संयुक्त प्रांत) unit was renamed as Uttar Pradesh on on January 24, 1950.
The minister said the state's rich cultural heritage would be showcased (प्रदर्शन) through different programmes on this day.
