North India to get DNA bank for wildlife(वन्य जीवन)

North India is all set to get its first Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) bank for wildlife in Bareilly. Scientists at the Indian Veterinary (पशु चिकित्सा) Research Institute (IVRI) in Bareilly are in the process

of collecting DNA samples of all wild animals to set up the bank. It will help in research and also in bringing down poaching(शिकार) . At present, the Laboratory for the Conservation of Endangered Species (लुप्तप्राय प्रजातियां) (LaCONES) in Hyderabad is the only such facility in the country.
