World Cancer Day – February 4, 2017

The World Cancer Day is celebrated annually (प्रतिवर्ष) on February 4 to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment(इलाज). The theme (विषय) of 2017 World Cancer Day is We Can, I Can.  A special three year campaign has been designed from 2016-2018 to

explore ways how everyone collectively or as individuals can do their part to reduce(कम हो)  the global burden (भार) of cancer. The day was started by Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to support the goals of the World Cancer Declaration, written in 2008. The main aim of the day is to ensure that illness, sickness (रोग)and deaths due to cancer are reduced significantly by 2020.
