VP Hamid Ansari on 5-day 2-nation visit of East African countries In a conscious effort by the Indian government to intensify (तेज) interactions (बातचीत) with Africa, Vice President Hamid Ansari is on five-day two-nation visit of East African countries. The Vice President arrived in Kampala in Uganda, Tuesday evening after bidding farewell (बिदाई) to Rwanda.  He was received at the Entebbe
International Airport by his Ugandan counterpart Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi. The vice president was also given a guard of honour at the VIP reception area. 

Bilateral talks held between Vice President Hamid Ansari and President Yoweri Museveni. 

Vice President Ansari also addressed(संबोधित) the India-Uganda Business Forum. 

This is the first high-level bilateral visit by any such higher level Indian dignitary to Uganda since 1997.
