US House of Representatives Introduces H-1B Visa Reform(सुधार)  Bill (एच-1बी इमीग्रेशन एण्ड नैशनॅलिटी ऐक्ट (Immigration and Nationality Act) The US House of Representatives has introduced a legislation on January 30, 2017 making it mandatory to raise the minimum salary of the H-1B visa holders to more than double at USD 1,30,000 from the previous USD 60,000. 

If the legislation is passed, it would highly impact American companies as they may face difficulty in replacing the American employees with foreign workers including IT professionals from India.

The legislation introduced by California Congressman Zoe Lofgren under the name High-Skilled Integrity and Fairness Act of 2017 ( ईमानदारी और निष्पक्षता 2017 के अधिनियम) envisages (परिकल्पना की गई है) market-based allocation of visas to those companies which is willing to pay nearly 200 percent of a wage to its employees.

iv. The legislation aims to find the best talent from around the world so as to supplement the US workforce with talented, highly-paid, and highly-skilled workers and also provide ample opportunity to create job for Americans rather than replacing them with low cost foreign talent.

H-1B visa

एच-1बी इमीग्रेशन एण्ड नैशनॅलिटी ऐक्ट (Immigration and Nationality Act) की धारा 101 (ए)(15)(एच) के अंतर्गत संयुक्त राज्य अमरीका में एक गैर-आप्रवासी वीज़ा है। यह अमरीकी नियोक्ताओं को विशेषतापूर्ण व्यवसायों में अस्थायी तौर पर विदेशी कर्मचारियों को नियुक्त करने की अनुमति देता है। यदि एच-1बी दर्जे वाला कोई विदेशी कर्मचारी नौकरी छोड़ देता है या उसे उसके प्रायोजक नियोक्ता द्वारा निलंबित कर दिया जाता है, तो कर्मचारी को या तो किसी अन्य गैर-आप्रवासी दर्जे में परिवर्तन के लिये आवेदन करना चाहिये व इसकी अनुमति प्राप्त करनी चाहिये, किसी अन्य नियोक्ता को ढूंढना चाहिये (दर्जे तथा/या वीज़ा के परिवर्तन के समायोजन के आवेदन के आधार पर), अथवा संयुक्त राज्य अमरीका से बाहर चले जाना चाहिये.
