Sandeep Singh Indian International Hockey Player Receives Honorary Doctorate
Indian professional (पेशेवर)hockey player Sandeep Singh has been honored with an Honorary (माननीय) Doctorate Degree by Desh Bhagat University, a private educational institution in Amloh, Fatehgarh Sahib District of Punjab on February 14, 2017. He is the second Indian hockey player to receive this
award. The only first player was Dileep Tirkey, former captain and sitting Member of Parliament, to receive an honorary degree for sporting excellence from Sambalpur University in 2010. Sandeep Singh was a former captain of the Indian National Hockey Team and was regarded as the most dreaded(खूंखार)  drag-flicker.
Singh currently holds a DSP rank in the Haryana Police.
