Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik creates Guinness record

Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik creates Guinness record India's renowned(प्रख्यात)  sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik on Friday created a Guinness World Record for building the world's tallest sandcastle on the beach of eastern Puri city. Sudarsan and his 45 students took about nine days to make the 48 feet-high sculpture (मूर्ति) under the theme of 'World Peace'. The earlier record was
reserved in the name of American artist Ted Siebert, who had built a 45 feet-high sandcastle at the Miami Beach in 2015. "Today, we have taken the measurement of this sandcastle and I am very happy to announce that this is now new Guinness world record," said Guinness World record official, Swapnil Dangarikar.  Pattnaik has won many awards for his sand art and is known for his creativity of combining art and activism.  He has participated in more than 50 international sand sculpture championships across(पार) the world and won many awards for the country. He has also been conferred with the fourth highest civilian(नागरिक) award- Padma Shri in 2014.  Pattnaik's sand sculpture titled 'Mahatma Gandhi - World Peace' won the people's choice prize at the ninth Moscow Sand Sculpture Championship 2016.
