Nepal Govt extends tenure of TRC and CIEDP

Nepal Govt extends tenure of TRC and CIEDP Nepal government has extended the tenure(कार्यकाल)  of Truth and Reconciliation (सुलह) Commission (TRC) and the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP) by one year.  A decision to extend the term was taken in the Cabinet meeting held at Kathmandu on Thursday. Two years tenure of these commissions was expiring
on Thursday. Both the commissions were set up on 10 February 2015 as a result of the Comprehensive (व्यापक) Peace(शांति)  Agreement of 2006 between the government of Nepal and then CPN-Maoist to look into human rights violations (उल्लंघन) that took place during Nepal’s 10-year civil war.
