IMF Launches South Asia Training and Technical Assistance Center in New Delhi
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) launched its first fully integrated (को एकीकृत) capacity development centre, South Asia Training and Technical Assistance Center (SARTTAC) in New Delhi . The SARTTAC was inaugurated by Shaktikanta Das, Secretary of India’s Ministry of IMF's
SARTTACFinance.  SARTTAC will help to assist the local member countries of South Asia including Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. It has been financed jointly (संयुक्त रूप से) by the IMF, the member countries, and development partners (Australia, South Korea the EU and the UK).
iv .The main objective of SARTTAC is to help its member countries strengthen their institutional and human capacity to design and implement (लागू) macroeconomic(व्यापक आर्थिक)  and financial policies that promote growth and reduce poverty(दरिद्रता). Besides, SARTTAC will enable IMF to meet the growing demand for technical assistance and training from the South Asian region.  Earlier, the Finance Minister of India, Arun Jaitley and IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde had signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2016 to establish a capacity development center for South Asia.
