Former State player Sriram passes away

Former State player Sriram passes away Former Karnataka middle-order batsman Krishnaraj Sriram passed away here on Thursday following a brief illness. He was 43 and is survived (बच जाना) by his wife and two children -- a daughter and a son. Born in Madurai, Sriram appeared in 15 first-classes matches for Karnataka while scoring 644 runs with a century (174) and a half-century. He also played
five List A matches. The highlight of his career was being part of the Karnataka side that won the Ranji Trophy in 1995-96, beating archrivals Tamil Nadu.  Sriram’s brother K Srinath, who is now a BCCI first-class umpire, also played for Karnataka before going on to represent Tamil Nadu. Interestingly(दिलचस्पी से), both Sriram and Srinath were part of the 1996 Ranji final, playing for rival (प्रतिद्वंद्वी) teams.
