Former police commissioner V.K. Rajagopalan passes away The former Commissioner of Police, Chennai, V. K. Rajagopalan, died in the city on Wednesday night. He was 73. An IPS officer of the 1967 batch, Rajagopalan opted for voluntary(स्वैच्छिक) retirement from service when he was working as Director, Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption. He served in various capacities in the State

police, including Additional Director-General of Police (Administration).  His friends and junior officers remembered him as a friendly and helpful officer. “He used to interact(बातचीत)  with subordinate officers regularly. He was known for his impeccable integrity (अखंडता) and humane approach,” said ADGP S. R. Jangid.
