Committee appointed for speedy completion of Sagaramala project The Sagaramala project aimed at improving the coastline(समुद्र तट) and inland waterways has gained momentum(गति) . Under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu the government today appointed a 33 members committee for speedy completion of the project. The committee will be held responsible to
oversee the project. Besides reviewing it on daily basis it will also bring together all concerned departments and will strive(प्रयास करते हैं)  to make sure that it is completed well within time. These directions were given by the Chief Minister who held the first meeting with the committee members. He underlined that Andhra Pradesh which has the 2nd largest coastline has many opportunities for a coast-led industrial economy. He reminded that sourcing raw material at reasonable(उचित)  rate is the key for development.
“We need an action plan to make sure that the project is completed within time. Identify ports as clusters,” the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister said that a nodal officer from every department will be appointed who would represent the department.

He stressed that inland waterways development should be encouraged(प्रोत्साहित).

The Chief Minister mentioned that the Krishnapatanam port will be soon made as the national employment zone and that the ports, corridors, highways should be interlinked to give impetus(प्रेरणा) for industrial development.

The government of Andhra Pradesh has sent a proposal for building 90 projects worth Rs 1,30,762 crores to the center, the Chief Minister said. He ordered that an implementable action plan for all the projects should be made immediately.

The Chief Minister said that he will review the working of the Sagaramala project once is two months.
