Oslo bans diesel cars due to high pollution levels

Oslo bans diesel cars due to high pollution levels OSLO: Authorities in the Norwegian capital of Oslo on Tuesday for the first time pushed diesel cars off the roads, due to high levels of pollution. The ban does not extend to highways and ring roads around the city, and public transport, cargo vehicles and cars owned by disabled people are exempted, Efe news reported. This is the first time this action,
expected to be enforced on Tuesday and Wednesday between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., is applied after the city government approved new environmental laws several months ago.
Temporary vehicle restrictions to curb pollution have recently been applied in several cities across the world and many, including Mexico City, Paris and Madrid, are looking into setting up a permanent diesel car ban by 2025. ENVIRONMENT, 2017 Current Affairs,
