AP-Transco’s HRMS wins Golden Peacock award

AP-Transco’s HRMS wins Golden Peacock award AP-Transco bagged the Golden Peacock HR Excellence Award -2017 for its Human Resource Management System (HRMS). Its Chairman and Managing Director K. Vijayanand received the award during the 11th International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility held in Bengaluru on Saturday. The awards jury was headed by M.N.
Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India.  Mr. Vijayanand said AP-Transco maintained one of the highest transmission availability of 99.95 % and lowest transmission losses of 2.97 % in the country and it was possible with the unstinted support of Government of Andhra Pradesh and commitment of the employee fraternity.

As per the directions of the Chief Minister, efforts are being made to supply power with minimum interruptions at international standards and reduce the losses to less than 6%.

Special plan

Joint Managing Director (JMD) Dinesh Paruchuri said A.P adopted a special plan to bail out the financial burden on Discoms under UDAY scheme.

“Subscriptions to bonds issued by the State government are encouraging. Against a target of Rs. 8,256.01 crore, Rs. 7,376 crore has been subscribed at a low interest rate. Of these, Rs. 4,041.33 crore was taken by banks and Rs. 3,334.67 crore by other-than-bank institutions”, Mr. Paruchuri stated.

It is contemplated to add 11210MW of generation capacity at an estimated cost of Rs. 64182 crore in the next 10 years in a time-bound manner, the JMD added.
