World Aids Day: NUN receives National Award

World Aids Day: NUN receives National Award Nagaland Users’ Network (NUN) and Kripa foundation programme coordinator Ketholie Angami have received the awards during the observance of World AIDS Day 2016 on December 1, in New Delhi. The Leadership Awards was organised by India HIV&AIDS Alliance, with the partnership of National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), UNDP and
UNAIDS to recognize advocates and leaders from communities affected by HIV&AIDS, who have worked intensively in strengthening the nation’s HIV response specifically in the last 5 years during the National AIDS Control Programme Phase IV (NACP IV).
NUN got the best community based organisation (CBO) category award 2016 for their vital work done at the grass-roots level to improve the quality of life of key populations while Ketholelie Angami received the individual (People who Use Drugs) level category award for advancing rights of key populations, program implementation, strategy for enhanced engagement of communities.
In a press release, Kripa foundation director Abou Mere congratulated the Nagaland Users’ Network and Ketholelie Angami on receiving the awards. Mere said NUN since inception promoted representation of persons of people who use drugs (PUDs) of Nagaland and ensured that voices and needs of PUDs were heard at state and national platforms.
