Satya Narayan to be awarded Bihari Puraskar 2016 for his book 'Yeh Ek Dunia'

Rajasthani litterateur Satya Narayan to be awarded Bihari Puraskar 2016 for his book 'Yeh Ek Dunia' Dr Satya Narayan, an esteemed Rajasthani litterateur has been chosen to award the 26th Bihari Puraskar 2016 by the K K Birla Foundation. He was been chosen for his Hindi book titled Yeh Ek Dunia published in 2010. Union Minority Affairs Ministry's priority list to put special emphasis on empowering
minorities in 2017.
Dr Satya Narayan, an esteemed Rajasthani litterateur has been chosen to be awarded the 26th Bihari Puraskar 2016 by the K K Birla Foundation. The prize includes cash of Rs 2 lakhs, besides a citation and a plaque. He was been chosen for his Hindi book Yeh Ek Dunia published in 2010.

In an official statement the Foundation said, "K K Birla Foundation announces that the twenty-sixth Bihari Puraskar for the year 2016 will be given to Dr Satya Narayan for his Hindi reportage Yeh Ek Dunia. This book was published in 2010.''

Last year, writer Bhagwati Lal Vyas received this award for his Rajasthani poetry collection titled, 'Katha Sun Aawe Hai Sabad'.

What is the book Yeh Ek Dunia about?

Narayan's book precisely depicts various circumstances of life in the contemporary world. In it he has built a model of new creativity and attempts to enter unseen aspects or dimensions, where human experiences and conscience are more important than life situations of contemporary time zone.

Other works of Dr Satya Narayan

Among his other famous works are Ret Ki Kokh Mein, Phati Jeb Se Ek Din, Yahin Kahin Neend Thi. He has also written for various newspapers and magazines including, Yayavar Ki Diary. He has also received several awards like the Acharya Niranjannath Samman by Sambodhan, Kankroli, and the Kanhaiyaa Laal Sahal Award from Rajasthan Sahitya Akademi among others.

About Bihari Puraskar

Instituted in 1991 by the Foundation, the award is named after famous Hindi poet Bihari and recognises outstanding work in Hindi or Rajasthani, published during the last ten years by a Rajasthani writer.
