PM Modi approves grant of Rs. 3 Lakh for treatment of 'traffic cop mom' Doris Francis Nov. 2 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday approved the grant of Rs. three lank from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the treatment of Doris Francis, the mother from Ghaziabad who turned into a 'traffic cop' after she lost her 17-year-old daughter in a road accident. The
Prime Minister's Office (PMO) took cognizance of a news regarding services rendered by Doris Francis and her sickness due to cancer. Doris is undergoing treatment at AIIMS, New Delhi and the hospital authorities have been requested to provide utmost care to the patient. The hospital as well as the family members of Doris have been apprised about the sanction of the grant. A resident of Khoda Colony of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, Doris Francis is well known for rendering voluntary services to manage traffic at a busy intersection on a National Highway. Doris lost her daughter, Niki, eight years ago after a speeding car crashed into their autorickshaw. Months later, the grieving mother took up her "post" to ensure no one else suffered a tragic end like Niki. 56-year-old Dorris controlled the traffic at Khoda Colony Cut, which is one of the busiest cuts on NH-24, every morning.
