Madhya Pradesh CM Launches Five Months Long Narmada Seva Yatra at Amarkantak Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan  launched Narmada Seva Yatra at Amarkantak on December 11, 2016. five months long Yatra which will continue till May 11, 2017 aims to turn the Narmada river pollution free. The Narmada Sewa Yatra will cover more than 1,900 kilometres in 16
districts and create awareness about the conservation of the river. Various campaigns will be held every week during the yatra and the Chief Minister will join the campaign and active participation of public and society will be ensured in it. All the villages along the river will have Narmada Sewa Samiti to take various corrective actions on measures to be undertaken for its preservation. Trees will be planted along the banks of the Narmada and sewage water will be treated before it flows into the river.
