Indore: City girl feted with ‘Manav Ratna’ award for bravery

Indore-City-girl-feted-with-Manav Ratna’ award for bravery Sanawad: City girl Prachi was conferred ‘Manav Ratna’ award for bravery by national head of the National Human Rights’ Protection Association, Arvind Singh and high court judge BD Rathi in Jal Auditorium, Indore on the occasion of World Human Rights Day.  Prachi had saved lives of four kids in July 2007, when they
were vulnerable to a high tension line. While saving the kids’ life, her left hand was burnt, due to which she lost four of her fingers.  She has been awarded with many other awards like Uttam Jeevan Raksha medal, National Bal Bahaduri Award, Geeta Chopra award, CID Gallantry award and Pradeshik Veerta Award.  Kailash Borkar, a soldier from Omkareshwar, Nagendra Sharma, sailor Surendra Verma and Arun Verma were also presented with the ‘Manav Ratna’ award as they had saved people from drowning in the Narmada river.
