Deepak Agarwal appointed Noida CEO

Deepak Agarwal appointed Noida CEO NOIDA: The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday designated Deepak Agarwal, CEO of Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), as the CEO of Noida Authority. Until now, P K Agarwal was officiating as the CEO of Noida Authority. He had been given charge of Noida after the Uttar Pradesh government relieved senior IAS officer Rama Raman from the
post on August 25 this year. For more than three months after Raman's removal from the post of Noida CEO and chairman of three Authorities, there was a lull in thepace of civic project works in Noida. Deepak Agarwal, who is a 2000-batch IAS officer of UP cadre, told TOI from Lucknow on Tuesday that his focus would be to revive industrial development in Noida and to bring in investment. Besides aiming for holistic development of the area, Agarwal promised a transparent working environment. "My priority will be to improve civic amenities in the city, adopt best digitised services and cut paperwork so that fewer people need to come to the Authority," he said. "I will ensure that technology is used to provide best online citizen-centric services immediately," he added. Deepak Agarwal said that the concerns of the general public would also be given equal importance besides strengthening law and order, connectivity and public facilities in terms of infrastructure.
Deepak Agarwal, who is familiar with Gautam Buddh Nagar district, has been the GNIDA chief since September 2015.
He was also posted as the district magistrate of GB Nagar from February 2009 to March 2013. Considered a daring officer, Deepak Agarwal had suffered a bullet injury in his leg during the Bhatta Parsaul farmer-administration clashes in May 2011. As DM, Agarwal was instrumental in reining in the sand mining mafia in the region.
Meanwhile, P K Agarwal will continue functioning as the additional CEO of Noida Authority.
