Atletico de Kolkata wins 2016 Hero Indian Super League trophy by beating Kerala Blasters in the finals by 5-4. The final match was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on 18 December 2016.This is the second time Kolkata has won the league. Atlético de Kolkata was also the winner of the 1st

season of ISL when it was started in 2014. Kerala Blaster could not take the advantage of the lead goal, and at the end of 2nd half and extra time of 30 minutes the score of both teams was 1-1. In the penalty shootout period Kolkata overpowered Kerala by scoring 4-3 and taking the total score to 5-4.
