UP-100 Police Emergency Service Launched In UP. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav launched a state-wide integrated emergency service UP-100 in Lucknow on November 19, 2016.The UP-100 is the official name for Uttar Pradesh Police Emergency Management System which was previously called dial 100 project.  Aim: To provide emergency services relating to public safety across
the state round the clock. A centralized centre of UP-100 has been established at Lucknow where emergency calls will be received directly from across the state and the team of professional women communication officers would record the conversation; transfer the call to the police department that would finally send the necessary police assistance and also inform the local police station.
v. The center would control 3,200 police vehicles across the state in the first phase while 1,800 motorcycles would be added afterwards in the second phase.
vi. The service will initially work in 11 districts of the state and later, it will cover all the remaining districts. The state government has allocated Rs. 2,200 crore for the project.
vii. The new high-tech centralized emergency system will ensure that police reach a caller in a maximum of 20 minutes in rural areas and within 15 minutes in urban areas.
