Umaro Sissoco Embalo sworn in as the PM of Guinea-Bissau

Umaro Sissoco Embalo sworn in as the PM of Guinea-Bissau. President of Guinea-Bissau, Jose Mario Vaz, named Umaro Sissoco Embalo as Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau, on November 18, 2016, replacing Baciro Dja. The decision was taken to solve a succession crisis in the West African state. The new 44-year-old PM is not a well-known public figure but has served as advisor to several heads of
state.  He has held various positions in previous governments, including advisor to the president, , Jose Mario Vaz, named Umaro Sissoco Embalo as Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau,to the prime minister and to the speaker of parliament and was promoted to the rank of state minister and brigadier general in 2012.
v. Guinea-Bissau has been in distress and instability since its independence from Portugal in 1974.
