Renowned Hindi writer Viveki Rai passes away

varanasi, Nov 22: Renowned Hindi and Bhojpuri writer Viveki Rai passed away here on Tuesday morning. He was 92 years old. A recipient of Mahapandit Rahul Sankrityayan Award and Yash Bharati Award, Rai has penned over 70 books.  He belongs to Sonwani village in Ghazipur and was famous for his novel Sonamati. He had also vehemently criticized the emergency imposed during Indira Gandhi's
regime and expressed it in his work 'Katra bi Aarzoo'. Rai's other notable works include Mangal Bhavan, Purush Puran, Samar Shesh Hai, Shwet Patra, Babool etc.
