Coal supply to thermal plants of Punjab and Rajasthan and the new thermal plant Talwandi Sabo Power Ltd (TSPL) near Saddasinghwala is mostly done through this route.

iv. This project is envisaged to provide the industry, the agriculturists, the armed forces and the rail users in general a seamless connectivity in to the hinterlands and border districts of Punjab state.
