Mahindra’s Design Studio receives international architecture award for 2016,PUNE: Mahindra and Mahindra Limited recently announced that its Design Studio has received the international architecture award for 2016 from the Chicago Anthenaeum. The latter encompasses the museum of architecture and design, the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. A statement issued by

the design Studio stated that the international architectural award is the most prestigious and distinguished building award programme that honours new and cutting edge design and promotes international architecture and design to global audiences.

Ramkripa Ananthan, chief designer, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd in a statement said, "What makes this recognition even more special is the fact that all the competing projects are well known globally and noteworthy in their own right. We have taken special care to respect our roots and preserve the natural form and textures of the raw materials used in building the Design Studio. This award is very inspiring for the entire team and we hope to live up to its legacy by continuing to set new benchmarks in design excellence." The statement further added, this year, the jury received a record number of projects for new buildings, landscape architecture and urban planning from prestigious global firms practicing. The jury selection took place in Milan during the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale and 130 projects from over 40 nations were selected by a distinguished group of Italian architects, journalists and educators.

The Mahindra Design Studio has a unique design and its architects conceptualized a rugged, raw space that uses natural light, celebrates its industrial context and complements it with a deceptively light and nuanced design.
