World Post Day 2016 observed with theme Innovation, Integration and Inclusion

World Post Day 2016 was on 9 October 2016 observed across the world with the theme Innovation, Integration and Inclusion.The purpose of World Post Day is to bring awareness to the Post's role in the everyday lives of people and businesses, as well as its contribution to global social and economic development. World Post Day is celebrated each year on 9 October, the date of anniversary of the
establishment of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in 1874 in the Swiss Capital, Bern.
• 9 October was declared World Post Day by the UPU Congress held in Tokyo, Japan in 1969. Since then, countries across the world participate annually in the celebrations.
• Approximately 150 countries take part in celebrating the World Post Day every year. Some of the countries promote their new postal services at this special day.
