Supreme Court bars BCCI from releasing funds to state bodies

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday stopped all further payments to state associations of the BCCI till they passed special resolutions adopting the Lodha Panel reforms. The state associations would also not be allowed to utilise any money earlier allotted to them. A bench led by Chief Justice of India TS Thakur also sought a personal affidavit from Anurag Thakur, the BCCI chief, to explain
whether he had asked the ICC to complain about the Lodha Panel reforms as government interference.

The court will now hear on October 17 whether the BCCI office bearers should be sacked and interim administrators appointed for refusing to implement the Lodha Panel reforms.
