CHANDIGARH: The best infantry battalion trophy and sports banner for 2016 has been awarded to 105 infantry battalion (Territorial Army) Rajputana Rifles (Raj Rif) during an award-giving ceremony held at TA Group Headquarters, Western Command, Chandigarh. The first of its kind, these awards have been introduced from this year onwards. Major General AK Sanyal of HQ, Western Command,
presided over the function and gave away the trophies. Col HS Brar, Commanding Officer 105 Inf Bn (TA) Raj Rif received both the awards from the chief guest. Major General Sanyal, while addressing senior TA Officers, JCOs, and jawans on this momentous occasion, appreciated and exhorted all present to do their best for their unit and the nation at large.
The best infantry battalion trophy and sports ban ner have been instituted on certain parameters, and the Territorial Army Unit adjudged best in the field of training, administration, and sports was presented with it. All Territorial Army Infantry units of Territorial Army Group Headquarters, Western Com mand, under Brigadier Vinod Bhadu, participated with zeal and enthusiasm.Territorial Army Group of Headquarters, Western Command, has the proud privilege of fielding 24 TA personnel as part of the command team in various disciplines.
