Pakistan to enforce complete ban on Indian TV, radio contents from 21 October

Pakistan's media regulatory authority has decided to enforce a complete ban on Indian TV and radio contents from 21 October 2016. It has warned that the licences of those found guilty of violating the ban will be suspended. In a statement, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) said that it has decided to ban airing of Indian content at the request of the federal government. PEMRA
said, the ban will come into effect at 3 PM and radio and television stations which violate the ban will have their licences suspended without a prior show cause notice. The ban extends to all Indian content on cable and radio being aired in Pakistan.
Besides, it also decided to cancel the one-sided rights that were given to Indian media in 2006 by government of former military dictator Pervez Musharraf.
