The beloved mascot ‘Shera’ has been adopted as mascot for the ‘NCC National Games-2016”, with subtle modifications of including a NCC logo on the chest ‘Shera” was considered an appropriate mascot for the NCC National Games as it represents – aggressiveness, agility, speed and vigour; all requisite traits in a NCC Cadet.

The NCC has found support of the Defence and Sport Ministries, all state Govts, sports federations and academic institutions in organising and conduct of the games. The sporting chapter of the organisation is bound to grow from strength to strength in the years to come.

National Cadet Corps (NCC), the world’s largest uniformed youth organization shapes the personality of the youth through training, adventure, cultural and sports activities. Prior to the year 2013, NCC conducted various sporting activities under aegis of its state Directorates. In the year 2013, it was decided to bring these sports competitions under a common banner of NCC National Games at New Delhi. The aim was to provide the cadets a larger arena and so develop a temperament necessary for furthering their aspirations towards greater achievement and recognition.
