Author Arundahti Roy announces second novel titled The Ministry of Utmost Happiness

Author Arundhati Roy in the first week of October 2016 announced her latest novel titled The Ministry of Utmost Happiness. The novel will be published by Hamish Hamilton UK and Penguin India. The novel will hit the stands in June 2017. It is after 19 years that Roy has announced the release of her next novel after her Booker prize-winning novel The God of Small Things was
published.

About Arundhati Roy

• Arundhati Roy is best known for her novel The God of Small Things that was published in 1997. The novel won the Man Booker Prize for Fiction in 1997.
• Her dubet novel became the biggest-selling book by a nonexpatriate Indian author.
• She is also a political activist involved in human rights and environmental causes.
• Early in her career, she worked for television and movies.
• She wrote the screenplays for In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones, a movie based on her experiences as a student of architecture, and Electric Moon.
• She won the National Film Award for Best Screenplay in 1988 for In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones.
