Vijaya Bank gets award

Vijaya Bank has bagged the second prize under Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar  for the year 2015-16. The prize was accepted by Kishore Sansi, Managing Director & CEO Vijaya Bank, from President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan Auditorium, New Delhi. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, MoS for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju and others also took part in the function. 

 Vijaya Bank:

Vijaya Bank is a Public Sector Bank with its Corporate Office in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. It is one of the nationalised banks in India.

The Bank offers a wide range of financial products and services to the customers through its various delivery channels. The Bank has a network of 1900 branches  throughout the country and over 3500 customer touch points including 1651 ATMs.

Vijaya Bank was established by a group of farmers led by Shri. Attavar Balakrishna Shetty on 23 October 1931 in Mangalore in Dakshina Kannada District of Karnataka State. Since it was established on the auspicious Vijayadashami Day, it was named ‘Vijaya Bank’.

‘Rajbhasa Kirti Puraskar:


‘Rajbhasa Kirti Puraskar’ has been  given for outstanding work in promoting the progressive use of official language to Ministries, Departments, Public Sector Undertakings, banks and in-house Hindi magazines.  Ministry of Home Affairs in its order dated 25 March 2015 has changed name of two awards given annually on Hindi Divas. ‘Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Puraskar’ instituted in 1986 changed to ‘Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar‘ and ‘Rajiv Gandhi Rashtriya Gyan-Vigyan Maulik Pustak Lekhan Puraskar’ changed to “Rajbhasha Gaurav Puraskar”

 ‘Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Puraskar’ instituted in 1986 changed to ‘Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar‘ and ‘Rajiv Gandhi Rashtriya Gyan-Vigyan Maulik Pustak Lekhan Puraskar’ changed to “Rajbhasha Gaurav Puraskar”
