Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday removed Chief Secretary Deepak Singhal, considered close to minister Shivpal Yadav, barely two months after he took charge. Principal Secretary (Finance) Rahul Bhatnagar has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary. Party insiders said Akhilesh was not very happy with Singhal, considered close to senior cabinet minister Shivpal
Yadav. This is one of several instance of differences emerging between the Chief Minister and Cabinet Minister Shivpal Yadav including the proposed merger of Qaumi Ekta Dal's merger with SP.
Singhal, a 1982 batch IAS officer was appointed as chief secretary of Uttar Pradesh in July this year replacing Alok Ranjan.
