So, what is Onam festival all about?

Onam, as we know, it is all about pookalams, the elaborate sadhya and spending time with family. The latest music video, Sandesham composed and performed by Chennai-girl Revathy PV and shot by Yamini Yagnamurthy is all about the significance of the Kerala festival. The video revolves around a mother and child. "The mother is explaining to the child the significance of this festival and
the mythology attached to it. Maveli Nadu Vanidum Kalam, a popular Malayalam song says that all people were equal and there was no negativity. Health, peace and prosperity sustained. The song is said to be written by Sahodaran Ayyappan in the early 20th century or a modification of the already existing original version written by an anonymous poet which follows an old folk tune," shares Yamini, who worked on the video for the past one week.
