Political crisis resurfaces in Arunachal

Congress faces major jolt in Arunanchal Pradesh; all but one party MLAs including Chief Minister Prema Khandu desert Congress to join People's Party of Arunachal Pradesh; the lone MLA staying with Congress is Nabam Tuki who was replaced as Chief Minister with Prema Khandu in July; BJP says Congress should not blame them for its own failure. Arunachal Pradesh has slipped out of the
Congress party's hands once again, just two months after the Supreme Court stepped in to restore its government.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu has staged a dramatic exodus of Congress lawmakers and joined a BJP ally, leaving only one member with the ruling party.

Khandu has taken 42 Congress lawmakers and joined the regional People's Party of Arunachal. The one lawmaker who has stayed with the Congress is, ironically, Nabam Tuki, who was replaced as Chief Minister when the Congress tried to stem rebellion in its ranks and picked Khandu as a compromise.

Reacting to the developments in Arunachal Pradesh, Minister of State for Home affairs Kiren Rijiju said that the BJP has nothing to do with the exdous of Cong MLAs in the Arunachal Pradesh assembly.
