KSRTC gets four national awards for smart governance projects

BENGALURU: KSRTC has bagged four National Smart Governance Awards 2016 and has been rated among the top transport projects in India for the year. A jury of experts made the selection after scanning the nominations and over 300 presentations. KSRTC won the awards for: Prakruthi (Clean environment initiative): The transport corporation's green squad interacted with the workforce to
ensure minimal environmental impact from air and sound pollution
Innovation in use of biofuels (Bio Bus): KSRTC was the first state transport undertaking to implement the 100% biodiesel-run bus, and launched 10 such buses (B20%), branded as Bio Bus with a vision of clean fuel, clean environment and clean India
Awatar (Any Where Any Time Advance Reservation System): The web-based passenger seat reservation system in state road transport undertakings facilitates booking of 25,000 seats through e-booking and 2,000 tickets from mobiles daily. They account for more than 20% of KSRTC's revenue
Intelligent transport system with mobile phone app: Supported by the World Bank, urban development ministry, the project has been implemented in Mysore city, covering 500 buses, 105 bus shelters, 45 platforms and 6 bus terminals with smart technologies
