Telangana plans India's first women entrepreneurs' industrial park near Hyderabad

The Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) and Hyderabad chapter of Ficci Ladies Organisation (FLO) have announced on Wednesday to set up a Women Entrepreneur's Industrial Park over 50 acres of land near international airport in Hyderabad. Touted to be the first-of-its-kind in the country, the park will house women-owned and women-run businesses. "India can increase its 2025 targeted GDP from
16 per cent to 60 per cent by enabling women to participate in the economy on par with men," said FLO national president Vinita Bimbhet. "Such parks shall give tremendous boost for women to set up their own ventures."

The organization expects its members to set up industry with substantial investments of approximately Rs 200 crore, generating employment for over 2,000 people, primarily women.

"The government of Telangana has its focus on supporting businesses, industry and entrepreneurs at all levels, including women," said E V Narasimha Reddy, vice chairman and MD, TSIIC.

Once this park is set up, FLO plans to collaborate with other state governments to layout similar industrial parks in other cities.
