Microsoft India: Anant Maheshwari names president, Bhaskar Pramanik to retire


 Anant Maheshwari will take over as President of Microsoft India from September 1, the company announced on Monday. He will be taking over charge of operations from Bhaskar Pramanik, Chairman, Microsoft India, from January 1, 2017. Pramanik will retire from the company in March 2017. Maheswari will be responsible for all of Microsoft’s products, support and services across India and continue the
company’s transformation in the mobile-first, cloud-first era. Jean-Philippe Courtois, EVP and President of Microsoft Global Sales, Marketing and Operations announced the appointment. Courtois also acknowledged the contributions made by Bhaskar Pramanik as the leader of the company for the past five years. Maheshwari  comes from Honeywell, where he worked as the company’s President for India. In this role he was responsible for the growth of Honeywell’s India operations across all three of the company’s strategic business groups: Automation and Control Solutions,  Aerospace, and Performance Materials and Technologies. Prior to Honeywell, Anant was with McKinsey & Company for six years where he worked with clients across multiple industries including telecom, IT and e-commerce, private equity, engineering equipment, automotive, steel and pharmaceuticals.
