Former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Kalikho Pul found dead

GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, former chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Kalikho Pul has committed suicide at the official residence of the Chief Minister in Itanagar. Pul had recently been unseated as chief minister by Pema Khandu following all the dissenting Congress MLAs coming back to the fold. Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein confirmed that Pul hanged himself from a ceiling fan
inside the Chief Minister's Residence.

Pul was staying at the official residence of the Chief Minister.

Pul became the chief minister of the state in February with support of BJP. He along with his supporters joined Peoples Party of Arunachal (PPA), a regional political party of Arunachal Pradesh.

He was unseated following the Supreme Court verdict and the MLAs coming back to Congress.

Pul always maintained that he would again become the chief minister, and that the changed situation was due to the Supreme Court's verdict.
