Shantaram Naik appointed Convenor of sub-committee on Defence for 2016-17

Senior Congress leader and MP Shantaram Naik has been appointed as convenor of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on defence for the year 2016-17. According to Mr Naik, Bhartuhari Mahtap, MP, of Biju Zanta Dal from Orissa, Neiphiu Rio, three times Chief Minister of  Nagaland, Zanardhan Singh Sigriwal, former Cabinet Minister in Bihar and Riti Pathak, a new member of Parliament from Madhya

Pradesh, are among other members in the sub-committee. The sub-committee has been entrusted with the task of examining the subjects of improper management of Defence land, procurement of trainer aircraft, inordinate delay in indigenisation of Tatra vehicles and seven other subjects based on various CAG Reports, Mr Naik said here.UNI AKM PR SB 1312
