SC quashes Arunachal governor’s order of preponing assembly


Supreme court has quashed Arunachal Pradesh governor J.P. Rajkhowa's decision to advance the state assembly session to December 16, 2015 earlier scheduled to meet on January 14 and has declared it null and void. The court has also quashed governor's decision directing the assembly to take up the resolution for the removal of the then Speaker Naban Rebia as first item. The constitution bench
comprising Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar, Justice Dipak Misra, Justice Madan B. Lokur, Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghosh and Justice N.V. Ramana have passed the order which now means that the political situation in the state reverts back to the status on 15th December.
