Manoj Prabhakar appointed head coach of UP Ranji team


Lucknow, Jul 16 : Former Test all rounder Manoj Prabhakar has been appointed as the head coach of Uttar Pradesh Ranji Trophy team. Zimbabwe cricketer Heath Streak will be the consultant for the Gaur Hari Singhania Cricket Academy. These decisions were taken during the working committee meeting of Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA), held at Mussoorie, in the hilly resort of Uttarakhand yesterday. After
Venkatesh Prasad, Prabhakar is the second Test cricketer, who will be in charge of the UP Ranji Trophy team. UPCA Secretary Rajeev Shukla said that Prabhakar will be here during the Ranji Trophy trials season. After Venkatesh Prasad left, UPCA was in search of an experienced coach to guide the senior team.
Heath Streak, on the other hand, will be associated with Academy to guide and train the promising cricketers of the state, Mr Shukla added.
He further said that former chief justice of Allahabad High Court and former Supreme Court judge Justice Chandramauli Kumar Prasad has been appointed as the ombudsman of the association.
During the meeting, various committees of UPCA were decided, while preparations for the forthcoming India vs New Zealand Test match, slated to be held at Green Park stadium, were held.
The team includes:
Under-23: Mohd Saif (coach), Sanjeev Jakhmola (manager).
Talent search committee: Rajinder Singh Hans (chairman), Musi Raza, Ratnesh Mishra, Saurabh Shukla (all members)
Senior selection committee (women): Neetu David (chairman), Kashmira Jain, Gayatri Yadav, Parvez Khan (all members), Archana Mishra (coach), Jully Ojha (manager).
Junior selection committee: Priyanka Tripathi (chairman), Eti Chaturvedi, Punam Chaudhary, Alka Singh (all members).
Under-23: Seema Trivedi (coach), Jully Ojha (manager).
Under-19: Chitra Singh (coach), Manju Bhandari (manager).
UPCA Academy: Gopal Sharma (chairman), Shashikant Khandekar, Mukesh Pandey, Ubaid Kamal (all members).
