Thiruvananthapuram: T. P. Dasan took charge as the president of the Kerala State Sports Council here on Saturday. Olympian Mercy Kuttan has been named the vice-president. Other members of the council are M. R. Ranjith, K. C. Lekha, George Thomas, I. T. Manoj, O. K. Vineeth, D. Vijayakumar and S. Rajeev. asan is back for a second stint as KSSC chief following the resignation of Olympian Anju Bobby George. Dasan,
who was the KSSC president during the rule of the previous LDF government, had faced allegations of corruption in connection with the sports lottery scheme. Anju, who courted controversy after alleging that sports minister E.P. Jayarajan insulted her, resigned last month along with 13 members of the panel.
Announcing her decision to quit, the celebrated long-jumper had said it was not proper to continue in the post after "allegations" and "misunderstandings" cropped up against her.
