Mumbai: BNHS (Bombay Natural History Society) on Thursday hosted a release function of a book based on biodiversity of the country. A book named’ Magical Biodiversity of India’ was released on Thursday, which was authored by Asad R. Rahmani with photographs by Dhritiman Mukherjee. Shantanu Moitra, Music Director officially released the book. “Through this large pictorial book, we
want to show our countrymen and the world the rich magical biodiversity of India. We have tried to cover all types of biodiversity which makes India such a unique and reside able country,” said Former Director of BNHS, Asad R Rahmani. ‘Magical Biodiversity of India’ is a visual treat of stunning photographs on land and in water by the established nature and wildlife photographer Dhritiman Mukherjee. The book also gives due attention to the ‘lesser fauna’ including a part on insects called as ‘the little things that run the world’ by Dr. E O Wilson, a noted American biologist.
