The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved appointment of 19 additional secretaries and 29 joint secretary level appointments.Some of the key appointments are:
SP Singh Parihar, who was earlier joint secretary at the Cabinet Secretariat, is now the chairman in the Central Pollution Control Board. Guruprasad Mohapatra, earlier a joint secretary at the Department of
Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has been appointed as the Chairman of Airports Authority of India. Balwinder Singh Bhullar, who was previously joint secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has been elevated to additional secretary. Anil Kumar Khachi, earlier the chief vigilance officer at Food Corporation of India, is now additional secretary at the Department of Financial Services in the Finance Ministry. Pramod Kumar Das, joint secretary at the Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions is now an additional secretary in the Department of Expenditure, Finance Ministry. Anshu Prakash, who was Joint Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, is now additional secretary in the Department of Heavy Industry at the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises. Vandana Sharma replaced Upmanyu Chatterjee as chariman of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board.
