NSG: New Zealand to bat for India, Turkey for Pakistan


According to TOI, New Zealand wants an uniform code for expansion of NSG and no country should be exception at point of time. On the other side, Turkey is constantly supporting Pakistan's bid. Turkey is of the view that bids of India and Pakistan should be equally considered. Pakistan's Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz has expressed his gratitude to Turkey for their support. Meanwhile, no decision has been taken on
India's bid at Viana meet, held last week. According to media report, along with Turkey, China, New Zealand, Austria, Ireland, and South Africa are opposing India's entry to NSG as India did not sign NPT (the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons).
