Germany to host G20 summit in Hamburg on July 7-8 next year

The German government today said it will host a summit of the Group of 20 major world economic powers in Hamburg on July 7 and 8 next year. The government said that the meeting will likely be held at the northern port city's congress centre. The venue contrasts with the remote hotel in the Bavarian Alps where Germany hosted last year's Group of Seven summit, but the government says it
"fulfils all the logistical and security demands." Germany will chair the G-20 next year. The group is made up of Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, France, Britain, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the United States and the European Union.
