Central govt services included on e-biz portal

New Delhi: As many as 20 central government services including industrial license and employer registration have been integrated with the e-Biz platform, a move aimed at improving ease of doing business. The e-biz project has started with an objective of providing government services through a single-window portal. Enlisting the steps, the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP)
said that states like Andhra Pradesh and Odisha have also integrated several of their services with this portal.

Andhra Pradesh has linked 14 state services including factories license, permission to draw ground water and license for manufacturing bulk drugs and formulations.

Similarly, Odisha too have integrated 14 services and that includes registration under Boilers Act, new power connection and permission for site and building.

"Government has emphasised on the importance of 'Ease of Doing Business' and it is a major pillar of 'Make in India' initiative. It is working extensively on improving India's rank in the World Bank Group's Doing Business Study," the DIPP said.

India has been ranked 130th among the 189 countries in the World Bank's 2016 report on ease of doing business. It was ranked 134th in the previous year.
